Bearded Collies are not related to Lassie... The Bearded Collie is a herding dog with its origins in Scotland and Northern England. Beardies, as they are commonly known, make wonderful companions and get along well with children and other pets. They require a weekly grooming and plenty of exercise. Introducing...

Fred: A.K.A. "Fred the Wonder Dog" (Fred T.W.D.). Fred was rescued from the Methuen MSPCA, on Memorial Day weekend in 1994. He is a Beardie mix, mostly Bearded Collie, along with one or more other (unknown) breeds. After one day with us, it was like Fred was always part of the family. A nice surprise was to find out he was obedience trained; it was amazing when he offered his response to my first tentative, "Shake?".
Calvin: A.K.A. "CH. MacPherson's Muddy Waters". Calvin is our brown-and-white purebred Bearded Collie. He was born on March 8, 1997 at 7:30a.m. (firstborn of the 8 puppy litter) and came home with us on May 2.; Calvin won his championship on 12/5/1998 at 21 months old.; He also won 1st place in American Bred Dogs at the 1998 BCCA Specialty in Massachusetts!; Calvin became a father on Nov 19, 1999. Bonnie: A.K.A. "MacPherson's Angel". Bonnie is one of Calvin's daughters. She is a "blue" (Slate-and-white) Bearded Collie. She was born on November 19, 1999 at 5:56a.m. Like her father, she is firstborn in an 8 puppy litter. Bonnie came home with us on January 15.
