If you have Microsoft Word on your system, you can typically access Word’s excellent spell check utility when preparing email message in Outlook Express or Outlook.  However, if you post to a typical newsgroup forum, there is no convenient way to check your spelling before you send the post.  People who are concerned about their writing will often prepare the post in Word, check the spelling and then use copy and paste to transfer the error free message to the text box at the forum site.  The IE Spell Check installs a local web page containing a vbScript that accesses the Word Spell Check and makes settings changes to make use of the option available from the Internet Explorer context menu.  After installing, you can select a block of text on a web page, right click and choose to check the spelling on the selected text and Word’s spell checker will run.  After spelling has been checked, the corrected block of text is sent to the clipboard.  You can then use Ctrl plus “v” to paste the corrected text over the still selected raw text.
